Reason

About 6 years ago, I was banned by AASA for having a few custom maps.  I was on the custom map train before it ever got popular.  We have a group of 20 or so of us making maps and playing them.  After coming back to the game 4 years later, I see myself getting kicked from servers by admins and automatically.  So I talked with a clan (AOD) and did reasearch on it.  Apparently AASA was banning for the most ridiculous reasons (this included).  It wasn't a hack, it was a .aao file (which are maps).  I believe a long time ago i talked to an AASA appeal, and they said "it's not meant to be in your folder".  It gives me no advantage, other than having a few extra maps.  A few months after that, the developers saw what we were doing and said, "hey, it'd be a great idea to have a real aa map editor" one was created, and it was never frowned upon again.  I just would like this ban appealed so I can come back to the game freely without any crap.  I'm a past reputable player, and would like to keep it that way.  Please do research on this, and you'll see my violations are garbage.  Thanks!

As it shows, purge_aim.aao was a map created by another very reputable player back in the day.  Think of it as aim maps for counterstrike, it was the same thing.  I'm not certain I appealed this before, regardless, I'd like closure on this.  I might have appealed another one and got the correct adjustment, or I just hung around the AON forums too long and thought I did (look how old this account is  ©_©

Updated to add IP address to MD5 kick.  Obviously devmode was/is a cheat,  therefore ban will remain.

hey, not sure what devmode was, but if i had to guess it was all part of the map creator... thefactory.aao was a map that i believe Purge made a longg time ago.  these two violations were right around the same time, so obviously it wasn't a cheat.  i couldn't respond to the post earlier this week, i figured it'd be a quick unban so i didn't bother.  i don't have a trace of that txt file or that aao file anymore but i can assure you it was from creating levels.

Appeals are not handled via PM.

Just google the words devmode and AA2.  Every AC bans for devmode as it is a known cheat.

sorry, i thought you locked the thread, which is why i sent you a PM.  In the end it's a .txt file that could have been anything, devmode = developer mode to test maps created.  I could have had a "superhax1shotdead.txt" file in there, and because it didn't belong there PB would have removed me from the server, and you would have hit me with the ban stick because of the name.  Same situation, devmode had a bad name because of cheaters, so it prompted a ban.  even if a file was misplaced there.  that's why the violations were day 1 and day 2.  if you look at that post you linked, i was the first reply because I was active in the anticheat community.  i really don't see grounds for a violation unless there is a specific line of PB that shows what the heck it did, or a screenshot to show it.  the things i'm reading online are for noclip, godmode, and of course map editting.  if you saw me flying through the level and impossible to kill, let me know.  a clientside notepad file cannot modify server side scripts.  there would have to be an exe file with it.  low glow.

Simple way to be unbanned.  Send the exact file that matches and you will be unbanned.  We only accept 1 chance at providing the file so make sure it is the correct one.

That was 5 years ago, and 2 computers ago.. I have the computer burried in my closet, if I get ambitious I'll plug it in, or I'll try to find the file on the internet and redownload it, even then I'm sure it was updated since the day I had it if I get it online, if it's still around.  I'll take a look, though...

If that was actually true AASA and every other AC would not have banned for devmode and other text files of the same nature.  However at that time in the games life you COULD modify lots of in-game things via a txt file which is the reason for the ban.  There was never a legitimate reason to have a devmode file amongst your AA game files and because of that your ban will never be removed.
